Wedding Venues in Dresden
Recommendations & Tips
Weddings in Dresden
Dresden is one of Germany’s most popular cities for celebrating a wedding. With its historic architecture, picturesque parks along the Elbe, and exceptional venues, the city offers many good reasons to get married in Dresden. Here, I’d like to introduce you to some wedding venues I’ve had the pleasure of getting to know as a wedding photographer over the past few years. These range from impressive castles and elegant villas to stylish insider tips in the surrounding area. Schloss Albrechtsberg, Villa Sorgenfrei, and Weingut Wackerbarth are just a few examples.
Tips for Choosing the Perfect Venue
How big is your guest list? When choosing a venue, it’s important that it matches your guest count. Make sure the space doesn’t feel too big or too small, but rather creates an atmosphere where you feel comfortable. Leave some room for the dance floor and a photo booth. Ideally, rooms are flexibly divisible, and outdoor and indoor areas can be combined for use in changing weather.
Do you want to celebrate outdoors? Parks, terraces, and gardens are a big plus, especially in summer. This is particularly suitable for outdoor ceremonies. All the venues mentioned here offer this option.
Do you want a civil or symbolic ceremony on-site? Not all venues offer both options. If you are planning a civil wedding, Schloss Albrechtsberg and Schloss Wackerbarth are suitable, as civil ceremonies can be held at both castles.
How important are culinary delights and a full-service package to you? Some venues assist with catering and planning, while others arrange external service providers. If culinary excellence is very important to you, Villa Sorgenfrei, with its Michelin star, is certainly a top choice.
